Situated in prestigious Pine Township, the community is served by the highly-ranked Pine-Richland School District.  Students in Blue Heron Ridge attend Wexford Elementary, Eden Hall Upper Elementary, Pine-Richland Middle School, and Pine-Richland High School.

Blue Heron offers a variety of amenities and facilities to their residents including a walking trail which runs along a portion of the Rachel Carson Harmony Trail corridor.  Other amenities include designated open space, two playground areas including a tot lot, a basketball court, and a large open grass field which can be used for all kinds of outdoor fun.   Parking is provided at both playground areas.
