History of Indian Lake

Established in 1966 the lake is located in Stoystown/Central City, PA, 1.5 miles from the Flight 93 Memorial in Somerset County. Indian Lake is a private lake. It is a 5-mile long horseshoe, 750 acres in area with 20 miles of shoreline. In addition to The Lodge, there is the Northwinds Golf Course and Indian Lake Marina within the borough. The Northwinds Peninsula Club is another 18 hole golf course less than 2 miles away and was the very first golf course designed by Arnold Palmer.

Other local attractions to The Lodge are Mountain Ride ATV Park and Flight 93 Memorial. Indian Lake is also one of the cleanest lakes in Pennsylvania and is great for boating, fishing, swimming, and water skiing during the spring and summer, and a scenic wonderland in the fall and winter. Because it is a private lake, there are some restrictions for guest activities on the lake.
